Young,Man,Relaxing,On,The,Sofa,With,A,LaptopVirtual therapy is just like face-to face therapy (please click on Individual and/or Couples/ Family Therapy for a full description) with the added convenience of being able to participate in therapy sessions anywhere in Florida and on any device. Not to mention, it saves you the drive in traffic to and from the office.

At Blooming Minds we offer therapy via video conferencing. The software we use is secure, HIPPA compliant, and uses bank-level encryption and security. Virtual Therapy begins promptly at your appointment time.

How it works:

A few minutes before the session begins you will receive a notification to the email address provided on the forms you completed. You simply click on the link and your therapist will be on the screen.

Virtual Therapy eligibility:

We want you to succeed and for therapy to be a positive and gratifying experience. For this reason we developed certain criteria to be admitted into the Virtual Therapy program:

  • One of the most important predictors of successful therapy is the therapeutic alliance. We believe this is best done in person. Therefore, while not required, it is recommended the initial two appointments be done in office.
  • A child’s age and level of maturity will also be a determining factor on  whether they will benefit for virtual therapy. Children whom require more physical interaction and redirection in order to remain engaged are not appropriate for online therapy. Therefore, patients must be at least eight years old and able to maintain attention during therapy with minimal redirection.
  • Your safety is our primary concern, therefore High-risk patients are not eligible for our Virtual Therapy program. These include: self-injurious patients, patients with suicidal or homicidal ideation, patients with poor medication compliance, and patients who are actively psychotic.
  • Existing virtual therapy patients may be asked to come into the office for future appointments if at any point they become high-risk.
